Escape room games to play online: four worlds to get out of

These are four online escape room games you play in 3D, right in your browser, on a phone or a computer. Each is its own world with its own story: a neon tower at midnight, a candlelit library, a dream at sunset and a cosy cottage on Halloween. Five rooms each, plus a hidden one.

The four games

How the four games compare

They all play the same way, so the choice is about mood: where you'd like to be locked in for an evening. Wrenhallow has no animal companion; in the other three, one keeps you company.

Questions

What is an online escape room game?

It's an escape room you play on a screen instead of in a building: you're locked in, and you look around, find clues and work out how they fit together until the way out opens. In these games each room is a 3D place you walk around yourself, in your browser.

Which game should I start with?

Pick the world you like the look of. You can look inside each one for free first: walk around the room that's open now on the game's own site. All four play the same way and none needs another first.

How much do the games cost?

Each game is €2.99, paid once, for all five rooms of its season plus a hidden room. All four games together are €5.99. There's no subscription and no account to make. You can look inside every game for free, and play along on Instagram for free.

Can I play with friends?

In the browser each game is played on one device at a time, at your own pace, so friends can share a screen and solve it together. On Instagram, each game plays out in public: everyone comments what to try next, and the best idea is tried in the next Reel.
